Teaching Methods

Expository-teaching methodology (lectures): presentation of research models with exemplification of ongoing investigations; discussion groups calling for critical analysis; relevant bibliographic search carried out autonomously by the students followed by group discussion to explain the knowledge acquired.

Learning Outcomes

Objective: this mandatory UC, allows students to opt for sub-themes to achieve deepening of knowledge, conceptualization and investigation concerning Family Intervention in a direct manner and towards specific research interests of each student.

Module I -Prevention

1-Parental Education

1.1.1. Concepts and typologies. Programs:1) Early-Childhood Basic Parenting Program, Incredible Years; 2)

Parenting Wisely, Urban Teens,

1.2. Marital promotion and enrichment.

1.2.1. Objectives and diversity of interventions. Models and programmes (pre-marital and marital)

Module II – Family and community mediation

2. Modalities and conditions. Indications on target-subjects and objectives. Associated variables and efficacy assessment.

Module III – Therapeutic interventions

3.1. Therapeutic process research

3.1.1. Study of the process and therapeutic results. Variables associated to therapeutic change in diverse settings and problems.

3.2. Crisis intervention

3.2.1. Concept and typologies of crisis. Evaluation and psychological intervention in crisis, catastrophe and emergence situations; the case of loss and bereavement.
