Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical lectures, in the classroom, lab or eventually in the field. Teaching methods fall into: the Cognitive Model of Education - oral presentation with deductive strategies (presentation of a statement introductory organizer, progressive differentiation and integrative synthesis); critical teaching with the presentation and discussion of problems; research, with deductive and inductive strategies; in Learning Interpersonal Models - Research Work Group. 

Learning Outcomes

This unit intends that the student develops competences in research methodologies in the area of geological resources, namely planning and development of research work.

Syllabus

1 - Research methodologies for prospecting evaluation and exploitation of geological resources;

2 - Presentation and discussion of case studies, in a modular format, by researchers from the institution or external experts, to present practical study cases;

3 - Research investigation works in a specific context of knowledge (each student will be guided to bibliography and specific data bases so that he/she gets an up to date knowledge on specific areas that will all him/her choose coherently his master thesis.
