Recommended Prerequisites

Introductory inorganic and organic chemistry knowledge; Good english level.

Teaching Methods

The course will encompass theoretical lectures, T, that will present relevant topics. Selected exercises , TP, will be discussed to apply knowledge in the classroom. Along the semester the student will choose a topic to make a written/oral presentation based on a real industrial example for implementation of a greener process.

Final seminar for presentation and discussion of the results obtained by the student in a small search developed during the semester.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand basic concepts and principles of organometallic synthesis and reactivity

2. Ability to analyze, synthesize and understand processes involving organometallic synthesis and manipulation. 3. Understand  the application of acquired knowledge in their vocational area at the level of professional approach including the development and use of catalysts in industry.

4. Capability of resolution / decision in solving problems within the field of catalysis processes on a larger scale. 5. Understand  the use of data bases sources of information.and  enhance the capability to search and use bibliography

6. Acquire skills to decide the best strategy to make a chemical synthesis of an unknown compound using organometallics.
