Teaching Methods
Tuition is delivered in both theoretical (TP) and practical (PL) lectures. Course topics are presented and discussed orally over TP lectures; PL classes take place in an IT cluster laboratory – besides elementary exercises in class, students are meant to undertake two course works covering: the design of a generic digital map; the production of a multicoded master map; course works are carried out by the students themselves individually, under the supervision of the regent lecturer though.
Learning Outcomes
This course is designed to cover the overall operational aspects of cartography towards the production of official or certified mapping. In the light of current national and European standards, the main goal is to prepare students for the design and implementation of effective cartographic models using IT means available.
