Recommended Prerequisites

The recommended prerequisites include what is taught in the 1 st cycle courses in the area of Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary, Nutrition, and Agricultural, Bioanalytical, Biological, Chemical Sciences or Engineering or, other courses considered appropriate by the FFUC Scientific Council.

Lectures with emerging issues in the area of food safety, seeking to foster discussion of case studies by tutorial guidance.

Learning Outcomes

The objectives of this curricular unit will be planned in order to prepare the students for the work to be developed within their dissertation / project during the 2nd year of the Master course. Thus, it is intended to confer capacity and expertise to students on food safety emerging issues.
With this curricular unit is also intended to stimulate the organization, systematization, international and national contacts and the ability to manage and filter large volumes of information from various sources.

Syllabus

The syllabus of this curricular unit will be prepared in accordance with emerging areas that could be part of the Master in Food Safety educational project. However, they are already planned seminars on biotechnology as well as the application of high sensitive analytical methods such as high-resolution mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance or real time screening methods.
