Teaching Methods

The theoretical concepts presented in the classes are followed by the execution of practical exercises using total stations, levels and GNSS receivers and associated software. The students make four mandatory projects along the semester.

Learning Outcomes

At this curricular unit concepts of geometric geodesy are addressed, namely the terrestrial reference systems, transformation between different coordinates within the same reference system and between diferent reference systems, as well as the associated errors.

Classical positioning methodologies are also studied, and the 3D positioning using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
