Teaching Methods

Tutorial monitoring (face-to-face and with ICT resources) of the PhD students throughout the whole PhD thesis preparation process (by the supervisors), a process which may encompass the following training components:

1) Training periods in Universities and International Research Centres ;

2) Participation in seminars and other training courses allowing the acquisition of highly specialized knowledgde in thematic and instrumental areas of the PhD dissertation;

3) Participation in Summer Schools;

4) Preparation of communications in national and international scientific meetings;

5) Preparation of scientific articles;

6) Collaboration in research projects of the network with which they are associated;

7) Collaboration in class activities at the level of the bachelor and Master degrees;

Learning Outcomes

The main goal of the PhD thesis supervision is to provide the students with necessary skills to perform the autonomous conduction of an original and innovative research project of a disciplinary, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary nature.

Specific skills:

- training in the autonomous management of the research project, mastering of the methodology and techniques, problem solving, mastering of scientific writing and the procedures associated with the dissemination of scientific articles with peer review, mastering the ethical processes associated with the scientific research in Psychology.

Cross-disciplinary skills:

- communication skills with the scientific community and with society in general, using several supports;

- skills in mastering team work and in the building of research networks ;

- skills concerning human and financial resources management.

- career management skills.

The syllabus associated to the elaboration of the PhD dissertation are related with the advanced knowledge and the specific and cross-disciplinary competences which the PhD students should be progressively acquiring in the domains of the instrumental and thematic areas (disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary) necessary to the successful completion of the PhD dissertation.
