Learning Outcomes
Provide students with the knowledge on health systems and policies in Portugal since the 16th century to the 20th century, giving them increased capacity to understand the solutions and the current proposals.
Knowing the broad guidelines of economic and social health in the same period and explain their importance for the development of the country, to protect the health of citizens and for the professional autonomy of the different health agents.
Knowing the social transformations/familiares surveillance of the patient, in the last 500 years and the evolution of attitudes towards life and death, giving them critical capacity to understand the perceptions and current practices.
