Teaching Methods

The Defence of Thesis Project consists of a public presentation of the project before a panel. Teaching methodologies are those that have been defined for the Research Seminar [code 03007483]. This seminar is based on group discussion, bibliographic research and individual tutoring. These methods will foster the methodological and theoretical skills required for designing and drafting a thesis project.

Learning Outcomes

The Defence of Thesis Project consists of a public presentation of the project before a panel. The thesis project should demonstrate the following outcomes:

1) Ability to formulate a research question;

2) Ability to describe different approaches and build the appropriate context for the research question;

3) Ability to describe the state of the art relevant to the research question;

4) Ability to define an adequate research methodology and planning;

5) Ability to define research objectives;

6) Ability for clear writing and organization of the thesis project document;

7) Relevance and specificity of main bibliographic references;

8) Quality of oral presentation, and ability to reply to questions and comments from the panel.

7. Objectives [250-500 words]
8. Short description of each chapter [1500-2000 words]

13. Timeline for research and writing
Total word count (excluding 9-13): 5000-8000.
