Learning Outcomes

1. To develop autonomous points of view on curatorial practices;
2. To inform about the different complexities of the various curatorial working fields (curating collections, working in museums, working in alternative spaces, working in art galleries).
3. To put the student on the situation of making effective choices;
The following skills are developed:
1. Being able to develop an autonomous and authorial curatorial project;
2. To be able to negociate and work in team;
3. To be able to adapt to different typologies of curatorial work (educational work, editorial and exhibitions).

Syllabus

1. The creation of a new role: the independent curator.
2. Different aspects of curatorial practice:
curating collections;
curating and editing;
curating in the museum;
curating and biennials;
Themes:
1. Curating between interpretation and experience.
2. Curatorial participative practices.

Practicum

Practicum is dedicated to the development of the activities of the Curatorial Lab in which the students develop 3 projects with artists, from the concept to the implementation in the spaces of the Curatorial Lab in Colégio das Artes.
