Teaching Methods

Expository and narrative method, using computer support and always based and illustrated with practical case studies.

Evaluation made by a final exam - integrating test type questions, quick answer questions and practical case studies - corresponding to 100% of the grade.

Learning Outcomes

Provide the knowledge of the national legislation related to work accidents and occupational diseases and the knowledge and skills for a proper monitoring and counseling of workers victims of such situations, as well as of the aspects related to the medico-legal evaluation and compensation of damages in theses fields.

Syllabus

- Work and risk.

- The contributions of the Law under Labor Law .

- Presentation of health and safety work norms - Basic regulatory framework, with particular emphasis on the Labour Code approved by Law 7/2009 and Law 102/2010 .

- Concepts of work accident and occupational disease and their practical importance; duties and obligations related to the employer , the injured worker and the insurance company .

- The medical-legal assessment of post traumatic damage in Labour Law

- From eveluation to compensation.

- Damage parameters in Labor Law

- The médico-legal report.

- Differences in the forensic assessment of damages in the various branches of law.

- The National Table of Disabilities for the evaluation of Work Accidents and Occupational Diseases, his use and the differences in relation to other tables.

- Case studies.
