Teaching Methods
The theoretical classes on the syllabus alternate with classes dedicated to the resolution of problems, and the coherence between the subjects presented in both reinforces the overall learning of the subjects. The lectures use audiovisual supports and specific bibliography. The classes dedicated to the resolution of problems also offer the opportunity to further explore the more difficult concepts. The exercises solved in such class follow the subjects of the lectures and stimulate the participation of the students in the resolution of the exercises.
Learning Outcomes
This course is designed to offer a quantitative perspective of Chemistry and to present physical models in which Chemistry is based to explain the molecular phenomena. It also aims at motivating the students to search for an understanding and predictions of the properties of molecules on the basis of laws and fundamental principles.
Specific objectives:
1. Acquire fundamental knowledge of Quantum Chemistry, Chemical Bonds, Spectroscopy, Thermodynamics and Kinetics.
2. Relate such knowledge tophenomena relevant to Medicina Chemistry
3. Relate spectrsocopy to the characterization of molecules and to diagnistic tools.
4. Relate Kinetics with Pharmacokinetics
