Public Finance I (1st Cycle Studies).

Teaching Methods

Teaching methodology: Seminars alternating with lectures and tutorials.

Evaluation: Preferably, continuous assessment through presentation and discussion of papers, or alternatively a final written exam.

Learning Outcomes

To complement 1st Cycle courses in Public Finance I (mandatory) and Public Finance II (optional).

While 1st Cycle courses lay greater emphasis on central government finances, this 2nd Cycle course will focus on European, regional and local finances. The aim is thus to acquire skills for understanding the evolution, functions and linkages between the various levels of public financial decisions at European, national, regional and local levels.

a) The financial system of the European Union;

b) The general budget,

c) Implementing and monitoring the budget;

d) Evolution perspectives.

II. REGIONAL AND LOCAL PUBLIC FINANCES:

a) Local government finances;

b) Autonomous regions finances.
