Recommended Prerequisites

Commercial Law I and II; proficiency in English and/or German.   

Teaching Methods

Lectures and tutorials in three-hour sessions per week for one semester. The evaluation system takes into account in-class participation and presentation and discussion of written papers; students will also be provided with the chance of taking a final written exam, which may consist of a critical examination of one or further court decisions by national or EU courts.

Learning Outcomes

This is a semester-long courseaiming at imparting in-depth, updated knowledge on Antitrust Law based on court decisions, especially those by the Court of Justice and the General Court.

Part I – On the history of Antitrust Law. Part II— National and EU Antitrust law. § 1.º  Agreements, decisions and concerted practices; § 2.º Vertical Agreements; § 3.º Abuse of dominant position; § 4.º Merger control.
