Teaching Methods
Software Development Studio spans the entire MSE program (this is the last course of a set of four), starting the
day that students enter the program and concluding with graduation. It accounts for 40% of total student
academic load, acting as a laboratory where students apply knowledge gained from core and elective courses in
realistic, yet mentored, environments. Professors are assigned to mentor each Studio project, providing team
as well as individual guidance.
Learning Outcomes
The Studio provides students with a laboratory for direct application of concepts learned in core courses. Studio
IV (Studio Reflective Practice) is the last in a series of four courses. After completing this course, students will:
have reflected upon the total project, start to finish; have an appreciation for their individual contributions to the
team and the project's outcomes; be able to identify ways in which the process, and its associated decisions,
may have been improved.
