Learning Outcomes

- To use a biopsychosocial approach in the assessment of patients, taking into consideration their social environment, their beliefs and behaviors.
- To understand that the contributions of biological, psychological and social factors should be analyzed not only in the context of  disease but also to promote active responsibility and cooperation in the therapeutic process.

- To learn and train the verbal and non-verbal clinical communication skills required in the patient centered model.
- To understand that a major cause of the current complains in the doctor-patient relationship results from the dissonance between the patient expectations and physician expectations with regard to that relationship.
- To conduct an interview and a clinical history formulation, according to a biopsychosocial perspective.
