Learning Outcomes

Contribute to the comprehensive training of pharmacists by providing important tools concerning communication, management and information in community pharmacy

Providing a set of fundamental knowledge regarding health products and medical devices, in the community pharmacy framework, that will allow future pharmacists to acquire competences that will enable them to correctly advise and inform customers on the most adequate product to fulfill their needs, and also to clarify any existing doubts regarding those or any other products.

Syllabus

Communication, management and information strategies regarding health products. The importance of communication in health promotion. Attitudes and behaviours that facilitate communication. How to communicate to inform, clarify and retain a costumer.

Pregnancy. Main health care concerns during pregnancy. Community pharmacist counseling in pregnancy and during breast feeding.

Infant care - Skin/hygiene; Common health problems in newborns

Infant feeding. 

Animal health

Compression therapy for chronic venous insufficiency. General concepts.

Ostomy.

Orthopedic products.

Dietary supplements.
