Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes with presentation of the learning objectives followed by the explanation of the contentes. Active participation of the students is encouraged, for clarification of doubts, and to stimulate critical thinking and resolution of practical clinical problems

Learning Outcomes

It is intended that he student knows: epidemiology of nutritional problems of the elderly; influence of nutrition in healthy aging, consequences of aging on nutritional status and body composition, nutritional assessment of the elderly, the problem of malnutrition in the elderly; healthy eating.

Epidemiology of nutrition in the elderly, assessment of nutritional status of the elderly; major nutritional problems of the elderly (malnutrition, micronutrient deficiency, obesity), methods of prevention and treatment of nutritional problems of the elderly.
