Learning Outcomes

Make known, through theoretical teaching, essential knowledge on major pathologies of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases in the Elderly. Will be treated 6 main themes: pathology of the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, thyroid gland pathology, pathology of phospho-calcium and vitamin D metabolism, pathology of adrenals, gonads disease, diabetes mellitus and intermediate hyperglycemia. It is intended that skills and knowledge are acquired so they can recognize these conditions in the elderly and its specificities in this period of life with the ultimate goal of improving survival and quality of life of older people affected by them. Endocrine diseases are chronic diseases where therapeutic education and knowledge play a key role both in the quality of life and in the survival. Aging has increased so it is very important to know your physiology and pathology.
