The basic knowledge  in the human body in normal and ill situation. The celular and molecular biology, the histology,  Human Anatomophysiology, and also  biochemical, Organic Chemical and also in galenic pharmacy are importante.

Teaching Methods

Practical study is supported with :
1. Exemples with animal models for the studies in pharmacology and the international rules os animal use.
2. Metodologies for the study of  1) mechanism of action; 2) Receptors and dose/reponse cuves; 3) Psycho-medicines – stimulant and depressant drugs; Analgésic and Anti-inflamatory drugs; Pain and Analgesics with animal models;  Inflammation and Non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs; gastric models in animals.

Learning Outcomes

Pharmacology, a discipline bridging basic and clinical science, is increasingly directed toward developing new drugs and therapeutic agents based on their mechanism of actions, pharmacokinetics, side effects, toxicity and also the therapeutic overview. The pharmacist as a health professional with competences to work together with the doctors in benefit of the patients needs to have knowledge and skills to support the rational and correct use of the medicines and inform the population in the correct and healthy way of fife.
