Teaching Methods

The teaching methodologies will consist of a combination between theoretical and practical lessons.

Learning Outcomes

Acquisition of general knowledge relating to Family Law in general (notion, sources and general principles), marriage as a legal act (modalities, requisites, invalidity), marriage as a legal state (personal effects of marriage), transformation and revocation of the matrimonial relationship (evolution of the divorce system, procedures and effects thereof), establishing parentage (maternity and paternity), effects of parentage (parental responsibility, in particular), legal rights of minors (general ideas relating to minority and parental responsibility, adoption and civil sponsoring, legal system for the protection of children and youth at risk). Development of diagnosis and problem solving skills, of critical weighing of legal solutions, of the ability to determine the interests at stake within the framework of the different issues studied throughout the course.
