Learning Outcomes

It is intended that this course enable a law degree to know the key issues of medical-legal problems. It is intended that has knowledge of the functioning of the medical-legal and forensic system in the various branches of law, as well as expert response possibilities of Forensic Medicine.

Thus, it is intended that he knows which forensic expertise that can be relevant in every situation, know properly apply for a medical-legal expertise, know its scope and limitations and know properly interpret the medico-legal reports in its various branches.

Objectives of the course. Introduction to Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences. Areas of legal intervention. Forensic expertise. Medico-legal organization. Intervention of the expert. Objectives of the forensic autopsy. Death process. Lesions caused by physical, chemical and biological factors. Infanticide. Sudden death. Determination of the species, breed, sex and age. Study of major disasters. Study of road accidents. Legislation and medico-legal documents. Harvesting and transplantation of organs and tissues of human origin. Dissecting cadavers and extracting parts, tissues or organs for teaching and scientific research. Evaluation of body damage in Criminal Law. Evaluation of body damage in Civil Law. Evaluation of corporal damage in Labor Law. Introduction to Forensic Genetics and Biology. Introduction to Forensic Toxicology.
