Learning Outcomes

At the end of the seminar, students should

C1. have acquired skills for translating specialized texts;

C2. be familiar with translation related tasks;

C3. be familiar with authentic texts from different areas;

C4. be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the 1st semester, especially in Translation Theory, Advanced Composition and Technical Writing and Applied Informatics and Terminology

C5. be able to work in a team.

Syllabus

P1- Analysis and translation of authentic texts (legal documents, manuals, reports, etc.).

P2- In addition to the translation of texts, students will carry out different tasks, such as revision and terminology extraction.

P3- Throughout the semester students build a portfolio with translations, complementary information and glossaries/termbases.
