Good knowledge of the working languages.
Teaching Methods
- Translation oriented text analysis (in group);
- Commentary and discussion on students' translations, revisions and glossaries;
- Translation criticism (in group);
- Lectures.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester, students will:
1. have acquired the skills necessary for translating different text types;
2. be familiar with translation related tasks;
3. be able to detect potential translation problems through text analysis, with emphasis on the cultural dimension;
4. be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the 1st semester, especially Translation Theory and Applied Informatics and Terminology;
5. be able to work in team.

1. Analysis and translation of different text types, particularly newspaper texts and pragmatic texts.
2. Carrying out different translation-related tasks such as revising and terminology extraction on a rotating basis.
3. Preparation of individual portfolios with translations, complementary information and glossaries/termbases.
