Learning Outcomes
The course addresses the specific structure of judicial power and the action carried out by organs whose power (constitutional, financial, civil, criminal, administrative and tax courts) is constitutionally and legally acknowledged.
The scope of the course encompasses the definition and enumeration of the different kinds of courts in Portugal, the indication of the courts, the study of the way they are organized and work as well as their competence, the criteria for the division of competence among them, the judicial and the judiciary and the corresponding statutes thereof.
Students are expected to identify which courts are competent to assess and judge the different kinds of legal actions.
