Recommended Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic management concepts and computer knowledge (from the user's point of view) is assumed.
Teaching Methods
The curricular unit will be taught using expository and participatory methods in classes that involve relevant student participation. Students will have at their disposal a set of multiple-choice tests (provided by the Moodle e-learning platform) as well as discussion forums associated with the subject and monitored by the teacher.
Learning Outcomes
It is intended that the student obtains skills to recognize the different types of electronic commerce applications, their advantages and challenges; recognize the historical evolution of electronic commerce, and the evolution trends for the near future; and recognize the different technological tools used in the area, as well as being able to compare different technological strategies according to the area of business implementation.

This is a generic curricular unit that addresses the various topics associated with electronic commerce (e-commerce) and electronic business (e-business), from a management point of view. Program: 1. Introduction to E-business and electronic commerce; 1.1. Introductory concepts; 1.2. Electronic markets and fundamentals of electronic commerce; 1.3 Infrastructure and fundamentals of E-business; 1.4 E-business environment: legal, ethical and tax issues; 1.5 Technologies and applications thereof. 2. Strategy and applications. 2.1 Strategy for E-business; 2.2 “Inward-facing” (B2B) applications; 2.3 "Outward-facing" (B2C) applications; 2.4 Applications between customers (C2C). 3. Implementation; 3.1 Systems analysis and design.
