It’s considered as prerequisites all already indicated for the different curricular units of the course and the skills and knowledge acquired in the curricular units of this course.

Teaching Methods

During the research work the student will be encouraged to develop a scientific work of excellence. For this, the student will be closely monitored by their supervisors, to help in the pursuit of the studies in the work program initially proposed - tutorial research.

This Master aims to guide and monitor the students in the development of master's thesis in Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. Thus, seeks to convey and consolidate a set of knowledge and skills related to the conduct of research projects in this scientific area.

Learning Outcomes

Promote a qualified multidisciplinary postgraduate training within the Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences to graduates in different fields and academic backgrounds, providing them with technical and scientific training that will allow them an effective and appropriate action in the areas of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.

Encourage curiosity for scientific research in the areas studied and provide monitoring that enables, in particular, the research activity. Develop research into clinical disciplines, laboratory and other forensic application. Promote inter-relationship between knowledge and contents of Forensic Medicine and other disciplines of the scope of Legal Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Research and field work to perform monograph to present evidence in public.

Syllabus

This master only lets you set a program with matters relating to the Forensic Sciences. In fact, more important than the transmission of new knowledge we seek to apply the skills already acquired to achieve the ultimate goal of completing the dissertation. Thus, based on a work individually with supervision and ultimately presented in a public examination. Despite the absence of a program in the traditional sense, it should be noted some of the various constituent parts of a dissertation:

1. Introduction: the literature review of the problem and research objectives;

2. Method: design, participants, instruments, variables, procedures, analyzes;

3. Analysis of data and results;

4. Discussion and conclusions;

5. bibliographic references and attachments

6. Preparation for oral defense.

Assessment Methods

Assessment
Public defense of the thesis before a jury previously approved by the Faculty. The dissertation will be defended in a public examination where the technical components will be evaluated, the form of written work, presentation and public defense: 100.0%

Bibliography

Depende dos trabalhos em curso e com orientação tutorial, portanto extremamente variável. No entanto, terá obviamente de ser a utilizada na tese. / It depends on the research work in progress and tutoring, so highly variable. However, obviously it needs to be used in the thesis.
