In the end of this unit the student should (1) have a broad knowledge of  hydromineral and geothermal systems; (2) be able to develop exploration, exploitation and management of hydromineral and geothermal projects, (3) understand the specific legislation.

1. Hidrothermalism and hydrothermal aquifers;

2. Types and characteristics of hydrothermal environments;

3. Hydrothermalism in Portugal;

4. Geothermal energy as an energetic and in dustrial resource;

5. Mineral and thermal groundwaters;

6. Exploration, develoment and exploitation of geothermal and hydrothermal resources;

7. Sizing of gethermal projects;

8. Legislation and technical management of geothermal and hydothermal resources.
