Continuous Assessment / Examination Assessment
The assessment includes the following components:
- Theoretic test = 15%
- Qualitative assessment of hurdles, triple jump and relay race = 21%
- Practical assessment [qualitative (50%) and quantitative (50%)] in four disciplines: two races (100m and 1000m, one jump (LJ or HJ), one throwing event (shot put or javelin) = 64%
Learning Outcomes
The subject of Athletics aims to provide students with the knowledge needed for training/teaching young athletes/school students in the different disciplines of Athletics. To do so, after completing the course, the student will be able to demonstrate the different techniques, and teaching progressions, on all different disciplines of racing, jumping and throwing events, knowing, and beeing able to effectively lead the process of teaching/training. Knowing the general history of the Athletics and the main assumptions of the technical regulation of competition, as well as be familiar with the equipment/materials and resources specific of Athletics are a must.
