Teaching Methods

Lectures for the introduction of concepts articulated with the resolution and discussion of practical cases of monitoring the subjects. The active participation of students is strongly encouraged, namely through the discussion of real cases, using online databases with economic and financial information about companies. A group project should be handed in and discussed in class.

Learning Outcomes

The course addresses, in a series of seminars, a variety of fundamental conceptual issues related to the financial policy of organizations. It is expected that students, as a potential stakeholder of an organization, acquire skills to assess the financial consequences of business decisions and collaborate in the financial policy formulation. Specifically, students are expected to develop skills in the field of securities valuation techniques, namely bonds and shares, develop basic skills to make strategic financial decisions and to use financial risk
management instruments.
