Teaching Methods

This course is lectured in theoretical-practical classes, using examples showing real life situations. In some parts of the course audio visual techniques are use for better exposure of the material covered. The dialogue between students and professor is stressed, through the discussion of the topics of the program that deserve a special attention. 

Learning Outcomes

Overall objectives: To give a global view of the organizations and management characteristics and to emphasise the importance of the general context for the surveillance of the company

Specific objectives: It is expected that they understand the dynamics of the management process and can visualise the different functional areas in a company. It is also expected that they can understand the importance of the external context and the internal factors that contribute for the competitiveness of the company.

Generic competencies: It is expected that the students acquired a body of competences that allows them to identify both the main factors that affect the regular company activity and a set of fundamental concepts to allow them to understand more advance courses of the management program.

Specific competencies: The students should be able to identify the context of the organizational activity, structural forms, and to become familiarized with basic management vocabulary.
