Recommended Prerequisites
Level A1 of the CEFR or aproval at French Language I.
Teaching Methods
In order to develop speaking skills, students should simulate a role-play in a real everyday life situation.
To improve student’s oral skills, comprehension exercises will be provided by using excerpts from conferences, debates, interviews, and television and radio news programs (TV5 Monde, RFI …). The reading and lexical and grammatical analysis of texts will enable a lexical and morphosyntactic study of the language.
Learning Outcomes
In relation to student competencies, students should reach level A2.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The program contents, which are always in the area of International Relations, include the following: revision of essential grammar points, consolidation of vocabulary, improvement of textual comprehension and development of listening skills, increased familiarity with academic writing and enhancement of the use of diplomatic language in oral production in order to achieve the learning outcomes of the CEFR.
