Teaching Methods

In order to develop oral production, students doing mixed evaluation should give an oral presentation on a theme covered in the curricular units of the second year of the first cycle degree in International Relations using bibliography in French recommended by the teachers . To improve students’ aural skills, comprehension exercises will be given using excerpts from conferences, debates, interviews, and television and radio news programs. The reading and lexical and grammatical analysis of texts in the area of International Relations will enable a lexical and morphosyntactic study of the language. Through the writing of letters or discursive texts, the students will develop their written competence. The range of exercises given during classes will center on the four competences of the CEFR and will be the focus of the final exam at the end of the curricular unit.

Learning Outcomes

In relation to student competencies, students should reach level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The program contents, which are always in the area of International Relations, include the following: revision of essential grammar points, consolidation of vocabulary, improvement of textual comprehension and development of listening skills, increased familiarity with academic writing and enhancement of the use of diplomatic language in oral production in order to achieve the learning outcomes of the CEFR.
