Programming capabilities and knowledge of an applied software package to be used in a miniproject.
Teaching Methods
This course is tutorial in nature guided by the responsile Professor. The PhD candidate will produce a written document on the simulation work done during the course and the result will be assessed by the Professor that coordinates this course.
Learning Outcomes
The outcame of this course is a written report where the simulation of selected work previously discussed with the student is described and implemented. The written document must include, among other things, the state of the art, the objectives, the description of the(s) problem(s) to be solved, techniques, methodologies and computational tools used, results and their analysis and discussion and finally conclusions.

The PhD student should submit a simulation work that includes an exhaustive literature review on the topic chosen for the dissertation, including the state of art on the research work to be carried out and the simulation plan that it implies, including methodologies to be adopted, support tools and ethical and social repercussions of the results.
The final document must clearly show the objectives, anticipate the results to be achieved, the gaps that the work will address the potential contribution of the thesis to fill these gaps and the impact it will have on the corresponding area of study.
The theme of the work is proposed by the supervisor where the professional interests of the students may be considered.
