The 1st cycle should be completed and most likely a master degree; however this is based on the CV of the candidate.

Learning Outcomes

In this course it is meant to:

1. Promote the contact of students with different approaches of the research in chemistry;

2. Promote the contact of the students with different scientific methodologies allowing to complement the study in their field of expertize (or in which they it will obtain its PhD degree);

3. Promote the integration of scientific knowledge in chemistry and their interconnection with other scientific areas;

4. To stimulate the ability of scientific communication between experts of different fields.

Syllabus

This course is meant to have its program does not have a program defined minimum level of content, but rather a program to set minimum stock level. That is, during the execution of this course the student should have effective contact during the semester with at least two to three different research groups, belonging to the Department of Chemistry FCTUC, or other departments FCTUC, UC, or other research institutions or universities Portuguese or foreign. The choice of the groups involved is the responsibility of the coordinator of the course.

The student has his own design, presented in first class with bibliography, which contains a well-designed research strategy. Must perform the work in the laboratories selected and make a report at the end (in article form) and submit it. The work performed must be original, presenting itself as much as possible as an independent research work.

A bibliografia é dada ao estudante, juntamente com o tópico de investigação, na primeira aula. A bibliografia consiste em artigos e artigos de revisão sobre o tópico.

The bibliography is provided to the student in the first class. It consists of articles and reviews on the chosen research topic.
