Recommended Prerequisites

Waves and Propagation, Electric Circuits.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical-practical classes with detailed presentation of the concepts, principles, and of the fundamental theories. In addition, several basic practical exercises will be solved to illustrate the practical interest of the subject and exemplify its application to real cases. Laboratory classes, with design, implementation and test of microwave circuits. A project, using a microwave simulator program, where each student individually has to design, simulate and measure a passive planar device.

Learning Outcomes

The central objective is the study of the microwave technology, including the design of components such as waveguides, directional couplers, filters, resonant circuits, and oscillators. This course will provide students with necessary knowledge and tools for designing RF and microwave circuits.
