Teaching Methods

We adopt a project-based learning method.

In the first semester, students develop a project and dissertation proposal, embodied in a written document, under the guidance of faculty members. The proposal is defended before a jury.

In the second semester, the student develops the project, under the guidance of a teacher of the course and possible co-supervision of another teacher of the course or expert in the area of the project. The student prepares a dissertation, which is defended before a jury.

Learning Outcomes

In this course, students must develop a project with the contribution of conceptual, technical and formal decisions from program requirements formulated by themselves. We value the notion of designer as author and as a social actor. Special importance is given to aspects of authorship and innovation, relevance and methodological solutions, and to social and cultural relevance of the proposals.

The practice of project management is also introduced.

Communication skills will be developed with the preparation of a dissertation and defense in public viva.
