Practical classes where students combine different practical concepts develop potential scenarios in face of the themes under analysis and site visits in each phase of the programme, under the supervision of the lecturer.

Learning Outcomes

The course Project Organization and Professional Practice, aims to convey to the students the meaning and importance of the architect, the role of the architect in providing a quality service whose ultimate goal is to improve the quality and life conditions of the citizens. The conditions of architectural services change significantly as job prospects, legislative processes and the social and political conditions, in particular in relation to urban planning and architecture project. It is important to study production processes, methods of working and conception techniques, as well as coordination procedures with other disciplines. Thus, in addition to the consolidation of the methodological process the OPPP aims to equip the student with methods and techniques of control of the process of ordering, project planning and implementation on site.

Syllabus

The knowledge and technical capacity is a decisive factor for controlling the project processes but mainly to control the work in progress in the field. In this context it is essential that the student understands the legal profession’s own acts (status of the Portuguese society of architects, professional ethics, fess, etc.), as well as the legislation that is required to comply with during his intervention as an architect.

After the framework on the Status of the architect and the Portuguese Society of Architects – the awareness of the professional class – and the revision of the Decree Law 73/73 – we divide the optional discipline into four distinct cores:

1 – STATUS and ETHICS

2 – ORDERING

3 – ORGANIZATION and PROJECT ELABORATION

4 – WORK
