Teaching Methods

Introductory lectures to identify main issues and lead students, in a participatory manner, to aprehend fundamental operational concepts.
Practical work on specifying, evaluating and operating technological systems for information services.

 

Learning Outcomes

The general aim of this course is to provide contact with technological systems in information services.
At the end of the course, students should be able to
- master the fundamental concepts of the design, specification, planning, and operation of technological systems in information services;
- understand common application platforms and architectures;
- know the basic principles of software development models, so that they can interact with development teams and participate in projects that deploy, create or extend applications that support the operations of information services.

2. Characteristics, functions and requirements of technological systems in libraries, archives and other information services.
3. Evolution, current and future trends of technological systems in information services.
4. Application development models and software quality assessment.
5. Operation of technological systems in information services.
