General Objectives of the Course

Training Course - Interdisciplinary approaches for teaching has the objective of Professional Developing Teachers. It is the intention of the training course to involve more and more Faculties and people from the Academy, promoting the share of scientific knowledge produced with high quality, in order to positively influence the ways of learning and teaching, involving the entire national schooling community, in turn responsible for the training of future generations; to contribute to the continuous training of teachers/educators, many of whom are former students of the UC, through the dissemination and sharing of knowledge produced by its community, within the scope of its function, as an educational and research institution; to demonstrate the importance of interdisciplinarity at all levels of education, fostering a critical and cross-cutting attitude in the subject areas and program content.

Admission Requirements

Teachers, educators and trainee teachers of primary, secondary, university and pre-school education from all areas and levels of education may apply for the training course. The seriation of candidates is based on the following criteria: a) performance of functions / belonging to a School Grouping / Non-Grouped School board; b) performance of functions in a Private and Cooperative Education Institution. Applications will be accepted from non-teaching candidates, depending on the number of vacancies after seriation of the teaching candidates.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The final grade is attributed on a scale of 1 to 10 points, where: 1 to 4.9 points - Insufficient, 5 to 6.4 points - Regular; 6.5 to 7.9 points - Good; 8 to 8.9 points - Very Good; 9 to 10 points - Excellent.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The completion of the course should enable the trainees to: develop interdisciplinary work proposals, in which contents from different areas of knowledge are inserted, associating them to the students' daily life; develop diversified work forms and observation activities, which promote the questioning of reality and the integration of knowledge; organize teaching, foreseeing critical autonomy in the use of available information sources.
