Portuguese/EnglishExamination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The rules of evaluation and classification are those established by the academic regulations of the University of Coimbra. That regulation allows the Organic Units of the UC to define specific Assessment regulations. The Faculty of Science and Technology of the UC has defined, after public discussion among peers, its Pedagogical Regulation, which regulates the examination, assessments and grading in the FCTUC.
According to this regulation, the final grade is an integer value in the range of 0 to 20 and the approval in a given curricular unit is obtained if the final grade is equal to or higher than 10.
Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
- Reveal the capacity for analysis and design in terms of the application of knowledge, in order to show strong professional skills, namely in the key areas of “Industry 4.0”, “ Information and Communication Technologies ”and the “Knowledge Society ”.- Demonstrate understanding and advanced knowledge in the area of specialty of the course capable of forming the basis for developments and or innovative applications of new products and services (for example in the field of artificial intelligence, intelligent electrical networks, new automated production systems, collaborative robotics, resilient networks, high-performance computer systems, etc.), including in the context of research in academia and industry.
- Ability to design and develop new solutions to solve efficiently (minimising resources) and effectively (maximising the impact of results) complex problems of interdisciplinary nature and/or involving large-scale and/or uncertain data and processes.
