Training Course Digital Intelligence for Sustainability

General Objectives of the Course

The general goal of the Digital Intelligence for Sustainability Course is to prepare students/trainees for a consistent and sustainable role in the development of future societies (“people-oriented «success skills»”) and to train more capable citizens in digital competences, making them more competent and aware of their responsibility as agents of development. Thus, the objectives of the course are:
-To prepare students/trainees for the acquisition and/or deepening of digital skills through the program MSLE-B;
-To promote technological development and the understanding of its social, environmental and economic impacts;
-To qualify citizens capable of promoting sustainable, intelligent and inclusive development in line with the SDGs;
-To stimulate the development of ideas / projects capable of responding to the challenges of integral and sustainable development.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to this non-degree course must be:
a) Students at the University of Coimbra in any scientific area;
b) Teachers and researchers at the University of Coimbra;
c) Other applicants whose academic and professional curriculum is relevant for attending the course, and is recognized as such by the coordination of the coure.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The future professionals and active citizens trained in the Digital Intelligence for Sustainability course will not only have technical skills to face the new challenges of an increasingly digital, competitive and global labor market, but also intelligible bases for the achievement of sustainable development goals set by the United Nations (2030 Agenda). Thus, at the end of the course, it is intended that students / trainees have acquired or deepened: basic knowledge for the use of digital tools adapted to the current and future job market; skills to understand and monitor the relationship between technology and the production of results and impacts; capabilities to design technological and action proposals based on sustainability principles in its various dimensions.
