Training course - Introduction to Space Weather, Space Weathering, and Space Debris

General Objectives of the Course

The main goal of this course is to enable undergraduate and graduate students to acquire an introductory knowledge on the emerging and intertwined fields of space weather, space weathering, and space debris—usually classified as space situational awareness fields—aimed at scientific research and followed by an experience of initiation to scientific research on the aforementioned fields.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Students will be able to understand and discuss the fundamentals of the fields of space weather, space weathering, and space debris, and their vital importance for the present use and dependence on space technologies, being able to acquire more knowledge of the state of the art on these fields in an autonomous way and being capable of directing this knowledge into scientific research activities.
