General Objectives of the Course
The training provided in this course is aimed at foreign students interested in attaining a breakthrough level in Portuguese. Besides developing the skills required for communicating in Portuguese using simple structures and basic vocabulary aimed at the satisfaction of concrete needs, the course also promotes an understanding of the Portuguese reality and of Portuguese culture.Admission Requirements
No prior knowledge of Portuguese required.
Applicants whose applications have been formally submitted and validated will be ranked according to the date and time of submission. The first 20 applicants will be awarded the maximum ranking score (20 points). The remaining applicants will be ranked in descending order based on the date and time of application submission. If, after enrolment, not all places are filled, applicants on the waiting list will be admitted according to their ranking position.

According to the general goals set for level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL), after completing this course unit, students should be able to communicate in everyday situations with commonly-used expressions and elementary vocabulary. Thus, focus will be placed on the lexical and grammatical contents necessary for producing and understanding simple statements related to everyday situations, both orally and in writing.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
