General Objectives of the Course

The licentiate degree in management seeks to provide students with the skills necessary in order to perform management duties at private and public organisations. With the skills acquired in the degree in management, students will also be ready to proceed to a postgraduate program (2nd cycle) in any of the specialised fields of management.
According to its core scientific structure, the degree provides students with knowledge in the most relevant fields of management, as well as a range of essential knowledge in social and technical areas, such as economics, quantitative methods, law, history and information systems.
The degree in management also seeks to provide students with relevant personal development opportunities for working life, as well as promote the international mobility of students and teachers.

Entry exams: 95 points (0-200 scale)

Professional Goals

Bachelor's graduates in Management have qualifications to exercise functions in several business fields, such as auditing and consulting, banking and insurance, finance, production and supply, human resources, marketing, teaching, and research.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The regulations of the University of Coimbra on 1st cycles are applied here, namely the UC Pedagogical Regulation, UC Academic Regulation, and yet the FEUC General Standards and Assessment.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The students will acquire a set of specific skills of technical nature, connected to the fundamental areas of management, particularly accounting, finance, marketing, strategy and operations. The acquisition of entrepreneurial skills is valued, such as creativity, innovation, leadership and teamwork.
It is also intended that students should acquire a range of specific knowledge, aptitudes and skills, not only of a technical but also of a humanist nature.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulation of the University of Coimbra.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

DL 74/2006, of 24 March, as amended by the DL 107/2008, of 25 June, by the DL 230/2009, of 14 September, and by the DL 115/2013, of 7 August.

Graduation Requirements

Successfully complete 180 ECTS, distributed between 150 ECTS in compulsory course units and 30 ECTS in optional course units. The optional course units can be selected among optional course units offered at FEUC. The choice to hold the 30 optional ECTS in one of the scientific areas of the remaining FEUC´s 1st cycle of studies (Economics, International Relations and Sociology) allows to obtain a degree in Management with a minor in that scientific area.

Access to Further Studies

Bachelor's graduates in Management have competences for applying to a 2nd cycle studies.
