Training Course in Qualitative Methodology in Scientific Research

General Objectives of the Course

The main objective of the course is to acquaint trainees with qualitative approaches for data processing. We intend to familiarize trainees with deductive and inductive logics of classification and manipulation of qualitative data, to practice analytical procedures that lead to the quantification of qualitative data and differentiate those from the procedures intended to operate in a strictly qualitative way. Many of tasks involved in qualitative research activities will be operationalized throughout the usage of software, including the management of the data using innovative tools. After completing this unit, the trainee will be prepared to design a research project including qualitative data analysis activities. All the participants will have the chance to use their own data.
