Specialization Course on Regional Geological Resources

General Objectives of the Course

This course will provide specialized training to graduates in geology or similar areas that are professionals (or expected to be professionals in the near future) of public institutions of CPLP countries and it aims to fulfill specific needs in field geology, exploration and mineral resources assessment.

Admission Requirements

The prospective candidates may apply for access to this course if: a) they are holders of a BSc degree or legal equivalent in Geology or other related fields; b) they are holders of a degree obtained abroad that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree in Geology or other related fields; c) in duly justified cases, holders of a scientific and professional curriculum that is considered relevant for attending this study cycle by the coordination of the course. The recognition referred to in subparagraphs b) and c) will only have the effect of granting the access to the course on Regional Geological Resources and it does not entitle the candidate the equivalence to the bachelor degree or recognition of this degree. The ranking criteria are those defined for the FCTUC: (a) Quality of previous academic and professional record; (B) Commitment to the course, in particular as expressed in the motivation letter and (c) Duration of previous learning at the University of Coimbra.
