Training Course in Reading and Writing for Portuguese Descendants
General Objectives of the Course
The course builds upon the students’ prior knowledge of Portuguese, which results from a predominantly aural contact with the language, and aims to develop their language skills, especially reading and writing, while simultaneously providing insights into Portuguese geography, society and cultureAdmission Requirements
Minimum age: 16. Beginner level language proficiency in Portuguese

At the end of the course, students should be able to:- understand simple texts about familiar subjects
- locate specific information in different text types
- write simple and coherent texts on subjects of their interest
- describe events, express feelings and wishes, for example in personal letters
- understand and use the grammatical structures needed for the above aims
- understand and use vocabulary relevant to the topics of the course
