Master’s degree in History
General Objectives of the Course
This seminar focuses on the large areas of historical knowledge (social and economic history, political history, cultural history, etc.) or on more specific topics, and continues where the 1st cycle in History leaves off. But while focusing greater attention on historical sources, this seminar also includes the completion of short written papers, in the case of the dissertation, medium size. Thus, the 2nd cycle aims to promote further knowledge relative to the history of Portugal, Europe and the world from different perspectives, of which we highlight:1. Consolidation of traditional learning and the possibility of cultivating new areas of research.
2. Reflection on issues, concepts and theoretical and interpretative models in inter-and transdisciplinary dialogue with other Social Sciences and Humanities.
3. Provides students with specific skills and methodological and theoretical tools for research and historical construction.
