General Objectives of the CourseThe aim of the course is to provide learners with linguistic and psycholinguistic skills in Portuguese Sign Language compatible with post intermediate level and favor the development of competences already acquired in level I and II.
Learning Objectives and Intended SkillsStudents will develop skills to communicate with a deaf person using LGP in a way compatible with a post-intermediate level; students will also perform various presentation in LGP; recognize identities and information regarding Deaf People, the Community and its Culture; role play and simulations in different contexts within an everyday life thematic contents; translate and interpret texts in ‘glosa’; recognize variations in how the Deaf communicate.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and GradingContinuous assessment (50%) assessment exercises throughout the semester
Summative assessment (50% mandatory at the end of each semester)
As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
